There are many twitter applications out there, but there is one that I would have to deem the best for the Mac. It is called Tweetie, and it is outstanding. Once you put in your account, tweetie will setup the rest. It will add an icon to your status, which turns blue to notify you of new messages and tweet. It checks for new information every couple of minutes and refreshes when there is. It also allows you to view TwitPic files and Yfrog files. You can see all your direct messages, and delete them when you are done. You can also search for people by using keywords. Plus, you can follow and un-follow people if you wish. It also gives you the option to open up a tweet in the browser if you wish. Tweetie also utilizes Twilonger, meaning if you tweet something more then 140 characters, it will ask you if you wish to use Twitlonger. It will then get all the linking done for you and post it nicely. Also, you can have more then one account stored, in the event that you have multiple twitter accounts. And just to top it off, their mobile twitter client was bought by Twitter. I highly recommend this application if you use twitter. Tomorrow, I will discuss the best Linux Twitter client.
